Who Is Montezz Allen?

I’m a sports broadcaster born and raised on the West Side of Detroit, MI, living at the intersection of sports, hip-hop, and culture. Whether it’s breaking down the NBA, NFL, or bringing that raw hip-hop energy to the conversation, I keep it real, insightful, and entertaining.

My passion is creating content that resonates with the culture, connects with people, and keeps them coming back for more.

I earned my BA in Journalism from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI, in 2012, and my MA from DePaul University in Chicago in 2014. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of roles, including as a Sports Director, Anchor, and Reporter at 41NBC.

There, I sharpened my skills in social media content creation, video/audio editing, and commanding the mic with a strong on-air presence, blending technical proficiency with creativity.

In Detroit, I co-hosted The Pitbulls show on Sports Rap Radio alongside NBA legend Lindsey Hunter. We kept listeners locked in with unfiltered takes, real talk, and a mix of sports and culture that speaks to our generation.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing icons like Beanie Siegel, Stephen A. Smith, Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, and more—always digging into the intersection of sports and culture, where the real conversations happen.

Beyond the game, I’m passionate about how hip-hop, pop culture, and everything in between shape the world we live in. For me, it’s not just about stats and scores—it’s about the stories, the energy, and the connections that bring us all together.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy the content and the conversations we have here.

Let’s keep it real and keep it moving.
