LeBron, PLEASE Pick A Team Already! The NBA Is Waiting On You

So... Anybody Else Getting Annoyed?

Because I am.

I'm officially annoyed.

Not angry.

Not upset.

Not even shocked.

Just...

Annoyed.

Because LeBron James is out here acting like he has absolutely no idea where he wants to play next season.

Sir.

Please.

We have seen this movie before.

Multiple times.

This is like watching the same episode of a television show over and over again and pretending the ending might suddenly change.

It won't.

LeBron James knows where he wants to play.

Don't look at me like that.

He knows.

His family knows.

Rich Paul knows.

His barber probably knows.

The person who delivers his groceries probably knows.

And yet here we are.

The entire NBA is sitting around waiting for LeBron James to make a decision.

Even Adam Silver Is Saying, "Bron... Come On, Man."

Now you know the situation has gotten ridiculous when the NBA commissioner is publicly asking you to hurry up.

Adam Silver essentially said the following: I would like him to make his announcement already.

Why?

Because the NBA is trying to finish the schedule.

Teams are calling.

Networks are calling.

Opening Week needs to be planned.

Christmas Day needs to be planned.

And apparently, everybody is waiting to figure out where the league's biggest attraction will be playing.

That's right.

LeBron isn't merely deciding where he wants to play basketball.

He's apparently holding the NBA schedule hostage.

This man has the entire league sitting around like a family waiting for one person to decide what restaurant they're eating at.

"Where do y'all want to go?"

"Anywhere is fine."

"Okay, what about this place?"

"No, I don't want that."

"How about this?"

"Maybe."

SIR!

PICK A RESTAURANT!

We Already Know The Options

Let's keep it a buck.

LeBron has reportedly been linked to multiple potential destinations, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers.

And at his Fanatics Fest appearance in New York, even Tyrese Haliburton tried to get the answer out of him.

"Is there a decision that still has to be made?" Haliburton asked.

LeBron's response?

Essentially: We literally talked about this backstage. We're not doing this today.

Of course he didn't give up the goods.

That would be too easy.

Instead, LeBron explained that he wants to join a franchise that shares his desire to "practice championship habits every day."

Beautiful.

Inspirational.

Very LeBron James.

But, respectfully...

WHAT TEAM?

The NBA world isn't asking for a dissertation.

We're asking for a jersey.

The man is giving us motivational quotes when we need a destination.

LeBron later indicated that he wouldn't keep everyone waiting much longer, but the announcement still hasn't come.

LeBron Is 41 Years Old... And Still Running The League

Now here's the funny part.

I can't even be too mad at him.

Because this is what happens when you're LeBron James.

You don't just sign with a team.

You create a national event.

This man is 41 years old.

He has played more than two decades in the NBA.

He's the league's all-time leading scorer.

He has won four championships.

Four MVPs.

Four Finals MVPs.

He has been an All-Star 22 times.

And somehow...

He's still one of the biggest stories in basketball.

That's power.

That's influence.

That's what happens when you spend 23 years building an empire.

But LeBron...

You can't use all that power and then act confused when everybody wants to know where you're going.

That's like Beyoncé announcing she might perform somewhere and then telling everybody:

"Don't worry about it."

Ma'am.

The tickets are already being sold.

And Yes, I Believe LeBron Already Knows

I'm sorry.

I don't buy the idea that LeBron James is sitting at home staring at four jerseys on the floor like, "Man, I just don't know."

Please.

This man has built one of the most powerful sports brands in the world.

He understands timing.

He understands attention.

He understands leverage.

And more importantly...

He understands the value of making the entire sports world wait.

This isn't a man accidentally forgetting to make a decision.

This is a man with options.

And when you have options?

You take your time.

I get it.

But I don't have to like it.

Charles Barkley Has Already Given Him The Answer

And honestly?

I agree with Charles Barkley.

Chuck believes LeBron should return to Cleveland.

And I understand the argument.

If LeBron goes to Golden State, Miami, or Philly, people will immediately say he's chasing another ring.

Trying to add another championship to the résumé.

Trying to keep pace with Michael Jordan.

Trying to create another superteam.

But Cleveland?

That's different.

That's home.

That's where he was born.

That's where the story started.

That's where he delivered the greatest championship in franchise history.

That's where he ended Cleveland's 52-year professional sports championship drought.

If LeBron wants to write the perfect final chapter, GO BACK TO CLEVELAND.

The story writes itself.

And yes, I understand the basketball questions.

I understand the age questions.

I understand the roster questions.

But if you're asking me what feels right?

It's Cleveland.

And Please Don't Tell Me He's Going To Golden State

Look...

I'm not saying Golden State wouldn't be fascinating.

LeBron and Steph Curry on the same team would be box-office television.

But let's be honest.

You would have LeBron.

Steph Curry.

Draymond Green.

A bunch of legendary veterans.

At some point, the team bus is going to need a chiropractor.

Charles Barkley already joked that such a roster would require plenty of "Depends" and "BenGay."

And you know what?

I hate to admit it...

But Chuck had a point.

That team would have enough mileage to qualify for a senior citizen discount.

LeBron, We Know You Want To Compete

And that's the thing.

I respect what LeBron said about wanting to compete at a high level.

I believe him.

I believe he still wants to win.

I believe he still thinks he can contribute to a championship team.

But here's the problem.

We know you're LeBron James.

You don't need to keep reminding us that you want to win.

We know.

That's why everybody is waiting.

The entire league is asking one question: Where is LeBron going?

And LeBron is basically responding: "Stay tuned."

Sir...

We have been tuned in.

We have been tuned in since June.

Final Thoughts: Bron... Just Pick A Team

Let me be clear.

This isn't a LeBron hate piece.

I have nothing but respect for one of the greatest athletes in the history of sports.

But I'm going to keep it real.

The suspense is getting ridiculous.

Adam Silver wants an answer.

The teams want an answer.

The networks want an answer.

The fans want an answer.

And me?

I want an answer.

So, LeBron...

Cleveland?

Miami?

Golden State?

Philadelphia?

Wherever you decide to go, the NBA will immediately shift.

The schedule will change.

The balance of power will change.

The conversation will change.

That's the power of being LeBron James.

But damn it, man...
