Cade Cunningham Just Dropped 46 — And If You’re Mad About the Misses, You Missed the Point

Let’s be real — some of y’all just love to complain.
Cade Cunningham gave the Detroit Pistons one of the wildest stat lines we’ve seen in years: 46 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 steals, and 2 blocks in a 137-135 overtime win against the Wizards at Little Caesars Arena Monday night.
That’s not just a good game, that’s video game numbers.
Cade became only the second Pistons player ever to record a 40-point triple-double (shoutout to Isiah Thomas), and he joined Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to go 40+, 10+, 10+, and 5+ in a single game.
Read that again. MJ and Cade. That’s the whole list.
He also became the first player in NBA history to post that stat line since steals started being tracked in 1973-74.
And in case you missed it, this win marked the Pistons' seventh straight; they're sitting pretty at 9-2 and holding down the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
But somehow, some of y’all are still mad because he took 45 shots.
Yes, Cade went 14-for-45 from the field. Yes, his 31 missed shots were the most in a game since the 1976-77 merger.
And yes, only Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, and Chris Webber have ever shot that many times in a single game.
But let’s be serious — who cares?
The man didn’t have Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert, or Isaiah Stewart. He was basically playing 1-on-5 with a bunch of role players and still dragged the Pistons across the finish line.
You’re mad about his shooting percentage? That’s like seeing Jesus walk on water and complaining that he didn’t swim the butterfly. That’s like clowning Usain Bolt for not winning by enough.
Come on, bruh. What are we really talking about?
Cade did what stars do: he carried his squad when everybody else was out. He stayed aggressive, trusted his work, and refused to let Detroit lose a game.
He shot 16-of-18 from the free-throw line, attacked relentlessly, and did everything possible to keep the Pistons’ momentum alive.
This isn’t just a box score; it’s a statement. Cade Cunningham is blossoming into the superstar Detroit’s been waiting for.
And at this rate, it’s time we put his name in the MVP conversation.
My top 4 right now?
1️⃣ Luka Dončić
2️⃣ Cade Cunningham
3️⃣ Victor Wembanyama
4️⃣ Giannis Antetokounmpo
That’s the company Cade belongs in right now.
Detroit hasn’t had this kind of juice since the “Going to Work” era. The crowd at LCA is electric, the team’s chemistry is real, and Cade’s leadership is turning doubters into believers.
So, say it with me: Cade is HIM. Detroit Basketball is BACK.
DETROIT VS EVERYBODY.
