Welp, this ain’t shocking—it’s inevitable.
The New York Giants are benching Russell Wilson.
Yes, that Russell Wilson.
Super Bowl champ.
Former golden boy of the Seattle Seahawks.
Mr. “Let’s Ride.”
But right now, he’s Mr. “Let’s Sit.”
Because the Giants, after an 0-3 disaster of a start, are handing the keys to a kid—rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
And let me tell you something: this ain’t about hype. This is about survival.
Russell Wilson has been cooked. Stick a fork in him. Call DoorDash. He’s done.
Against Kansas City? 160 yards. Two interceptions. Booed off his own field.
And don’t even get me started on that 4th-down pass he threw out of bounds.
OUT. OF. BOUNDS.
On 4th down!
I mean… come on, man.
Now, Jaxson Dart ain’t perfect. He’s a rookie out of Ole Miss. But he’s mobile, he’s confident, and he gives you options Russell can’t.
Preseason showed flashes of what this kid can do in a zone-read offense.
Giants fans have been begging for energy, and Dart provides it.
Let’s be real, the Giants had to do this. Jameis Winston is still on the roster, but we know what Jameis is.
We know what Russ is.
Dart? He’s the unknown. The potential. The spark.
And listen, I don’t want to disrespect Russ. The man’s résumé is Hall of Fame worthy.
But Father Time is undefeated. And right now, he’s chasing Russell Wilson around MetLife Stadium faster than Micah Parsons on a rookie tackle.
This move tells me two things: (1) The Giants are desperate. And (2) They believe Jaxson Dart is their future.
If the kid even looks decent against the Chargers, this is his team moving forward.
Russ? I hate to say it… but this might be the end.
