SGA Is Your MVP — And It’s About Time

SGA is the league MVP. But it doesn't come as a surprise.

The truth is, he should be back-to-back MVP.

But that’s neither here nor there. What's here— right now— is a generational talent finally getting the flowers he deserves, and let me tell you something: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander isn't just a hooper... he’s a PROBLEM.

Voted over three-time MVP Nikola Jokić and former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, SGA earned 71 of the 100 first-place votes, while Jokić grabbed the other 29.

Giannis? Not a single first- or second-place vote.

Not one.

The voters saw what time it was.

And what time was it? SGA O’CLOCK.

Let’s talk numbers — because the man let the stat sheet preach.

Shai led OKC to a league-best 68-14 record and the top seed in the West for the second year in a row.

He led the league in scoring at 32.7 points per game on a silky 51.9% from the floor, and he did it while also averaging 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1 block per game.

Let me say that louder for the folks in the back:

The only player in NBA HISTORY to match those averages besides SGA is MICHAEL JEFFREY JORDAN.

The same Mike who wore 23. The same Mike who torched the league and never sniffed a loss in the NBA Finals. The same Mike who turned the Jordan Brand into a cultural movement. The same Mike who built empires.

That's the company Shai is keeping.

And it isn’t just about numbers — it’s how he plays.

Smooth as butter.

Cold as a Canadian winter.

And poised like a point guard in a Spike Lee joint.

SGA doesn’t force it — he floats. He glides. He controls the pace like a symphony conductor, except his orchestra is an OKC squad filled with young killers and no fear.

This wasn’t a one-man mission. But make no mistake — this was SGA’s show.

And for those who said he couldn’t sustain it, that he was a “regular season scorer” or just a flashy stats guy in OKC with no pressure? Look again.

This man just became eligible for a 5-year, $380 million contract— the largest in NBA history. You don’t pay that kind of money unless you’re looking at a franchise cornerstone and a cultural movement in one body.

He’s not just the future. He is the present. And y’all better get used to it.

Because this MVP?

It isn’t a fluke.

It's a warning.

SGA has arrived.

And now… the league better adjust.
