Look, I want to give a shoutout to Hakeem, the Monks, or whoever else Victor Wembanyama’s been meditating with — because this man is absolutely murdering the league right now.
We knew he was coming. We knew he was tall. We knew he was gifted.
But this? This is something straight out of a 2K simulation where somebody turned off fatigue, injuries, and physics.
Wemby looks like a wild remix of KD’s jumper, KG’s intensity, Shaq’s presence, and Hakeem’s footwork, all in a 7’5 frame that moves smoother than most guards.
Check the receipts:
Spurs start the season 4-0 for the first time since 2017 🔥
Wemby’s stat lines are flat-out video game numbers:
40 PTS | 15 REB | 3 BLK
29 PTS | 11 REB | 9 BLK
31 PTS | 11 REB | 6 BLK
24 PTS | 15 REB | 1 BLK
That’s not a hot streak; that’s domination.
Right now, he’s averaging 33.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 6 blocks per game.
For comparison, only a handful of legends have ever touched those kinds of numbers, and none of them were doing it while guarding the perimeter like a 6’4 guard.
Here’s a crazy stat: Most 7+ block games before age 22?
Wemby (16) — more than Shaq, AD, and Tim Duncan.
Let that marinate.
Wemby isn’t just the face of the Spurs; he’s becoming the face of the entire NBA, and it’s happening faster than anyone expected.
He’s the perfect blend of old-school fundamentals and new-school freakishness.
And here’s the wild part: we haven’t even seen his final form yet.
Dude’s still learning the league, still building chemistry, still finding his rhythm on both ends.
If he stays healthy, good night. The league might as well start engraving his name on every award trophy right now:
Scoring title? ✅
MVP? ✅
Defensive Player of the Year? ✅
Most Improved (just for the flex)? ✅
It’s like watching an alien adjust to Earth’s gravity, and still dunking on everyone while doing it.
So yeah… Wemby isn’t next. He’s now. And if the rest of the NBA hasn’t realized that yet, they will, soon.
DETROIT might have “Basketball,” but San Antonio? They got something outta this world.
