I’m going to keep it 100: I absolutely love Shedeur Sanders’ mindset.
That kid isn’t just talking—he’s speaking facts.
What did he say, you ask?
Straight from the man himself:"If you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I'm capable of doing better than that." — Shedeur Sanders, via ESPN Cleveland.
And you know what? I don’t mind it one bit. That’s the competitor in him.
The kid wants his chance, and he’s not scared to say it.
Think about it: what was he supposed to say? “Oh, yeah, I love being QB3, I’m not ready yet”?
Hell no.
That’s not the DNA of a winner.
Shedeur is showing confidence, vision, and readiness, and the NFL could use more of that right now.
Sure, everything he says will be under a microscope.
But why should he dim his light and personality just because people are watching?
Sanders had a solid preseason debut, even if his last outing wasn’t perfect.
Mainly because he was surrounded by players who had no chance of making the roster.
Not even the practice squad!
Here’s the thing: Sanders has been listed as the team’s QB3 all season, behind Dillon Gabriel and Joe Flacco.
But the kid is ready to take the field whenever his number is called. He’s said it himself: “I’ll be out there, and I’ll be ready to play. I’m ready to play right now.”
And let’s be real, he’s not just talking hypotheticals.
Look at some of the QBs currently starting around the league.
The Giants just benched Russell Wilson for Jaxson Dart. Michael Penix Jr.? Benched for Kirk Cousins after the Falcons got worked like… well, like they got worked.
The Panthers have Bryce Young. The Saints have Spencer Rattler. Joe Flacco is ancient.
Dillon Gabriel? Please.
Tua? In Miami? Come on.
JJ McCarthy? Struggling.
Shedeur Sanders has a point.
The kid has talent, poise, and the tools to compete at the highest level. He’s being overlooked, and honestly, he’s being blackballed.
I’ve got no problem with confidence when it’s backed by ability. And this kid’s confidence is not misplaced.
Give him a real chance with legitimate NFL talent around him, and I firmly believe he can light it up.
Sanders isn’t scared. He’s laser-focused. He wants to play. He wants to win. And he’s got the mindset every team craves in their QB room.
So, Browns—or any team that’s paying attention—listen closely: Shedeur Sanders is ready, willing, and more than capable.
Don’t sleep on him. Don’t overthink it. Watch what he can do when he finally gets his shot.
Because when he does, it won’t just be playing.
It’ll be a reminder that talent like this deserves a seat at the table right now—not in two years.
