This Free Agency Is Pure Chaos—And I’m Here For Every Minute of It

This year’s NBA trade frenzy has been just that—a frenzy.

And I love every single second of it.

But let’s get one thing straight: the trade that blindsided everybody and their momma was Myles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks for 4 years, $107 million.

Turner?!

After Indiana just appeared in the NBA Finals?! And you waive Damian Lillard to make it happen?!

I’m appalled. Flabbergasted. Confused. Disrespected on behalf of Dame.

Let me be clear—I like Myles Turner. He's one of the better rim protectors in the league, and his ability to stretch the floor makes him modern and valuable.

But you don’t waive a future Hall of Famer in Dame Time — someone who sacrificed, relocated, and bought into your culture—just to make room for Turner.

That’s not basketball business. That’s betrayal in a Bucks jersey.

Now we hear from Chris Haynes that Giannis Antetokounmpo is ‘not pleased’ with Milwaukee’s front office after this move.

Not only do I believe it—I agree with him.

I'd be pissed too. Loyalty has become an endangered species in the NBA.

And now, the biggest domino left standing is Giannis himself.

Will he stay in Milwaukee? Or will he do what so many legends have done when the walls closed in—leave?

Personally, it’s time.

He delivered a championship. He did his job. I’d love to see Giannis in San Antonio with Wemby, in New York under the bright lights, or in Golden State turning that dynasty into one last dance.

But this trade frenzy isn't done, folks.

Let’s talk about what else has gone down.

🔥 Free Agency & Trade Recap

  1. Nickeil Alexander-Walker to ATL: Slept-on move. Defensive versatility and energy—I love it.

  2. Dennis Schröder to the Kings: Ehh... Pistons should’ve held onto him unless there’s a master plan. But I do like Caris LeVert in Detroit. And don’t sleep on the Malik Monk buzz.

  3. Cam Johnson & Bruce Brown to Denver: Perfect role player fits for a squad that needs steady contributors around Jokic.

  4. D-Lo to the Mavs: Bucket-getter. Fits Luka’s off-ball needs.

  5. Luke Kennard to ATL: I still don’t get the hype. Moving on.

  6. Dorian-Finny Smith & Capela to Houston: Smart. You add defense, grit, and size to a young roster. Oh, and the Rockets landed KD!

  7. Brook Lopez to the Clippers: I like this too. Floor spacer, anchor, no nonsense.

  8. Jonas Valanciunas to the Nuggets: Another bruiser behind Jokic. Nice depth piece.

  9. Lonzo Ball to the Cavs: I pray he’s healthy. Because when he’s on? He’s a true floor general.

Oh, and by the way…

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just got the BAG. 4 years. $285 million. That’s $70+ million per year.

Let that marinate.

The league is in a beautiful, chaotic place right now.

But decisions like waiving Dame? That isn't it.

These GMs are playing chess with people's careers, and if they’re not careful, they’ll get checkmated by their own stars.

I'm looking forward to seeing what other moves are made!
